Hey Ya’ll,

With summer fading into Autumn here rather quickly, I am in awe of the beauty these fleeting seasons bring. The familiar longing to say goodbye to winter weather as Spring blooms, the excitement of that first beach day in the summer, the crisp smell of autumn leaves evoking warm memories of Thanksgiving with friends and family turns to the loving preparations for holiday times in the winter. It’s a never-ending cycle I do thoroughly enjoy witnessing. The older I get, the more accepting I have become of the pros and cons each of these four seasons bring with them. It’s simply the way things flow, and I fully accept it these days. However, with seasonal changes comes seasonal florals too. You might be wondering what flowers will be in season for your wedding date, and if so, this blog post is for you. While anything can be ordered from around the country or even imported, ordering local seasonal flowers will help us be nice to Mother Earth. Now, let’s discuss which flowers are readily available in each season!

Spring Weddings

Spring wedding flowers are some of the most popular and traditional favorites. If you’ve ever craved the sweet smell of peonies filling your house, a springtime wedding may be just the thing for you. Spring is when the ground is at it’s most hydrated and therefore produces the lushest blooms. Some of our favorite springtime options are:

  • Peonies
  • Astilbe
  • Tulips
  • Freesia
  • Hydrangea
  • Ranunculus

Any of these blooms will bring that newfound sense of renewal to your wedding!

Summer Weddings

Summer weddings are the most popular of all. Considering the tremendous amount of options you have to host a summer wedding and the numerous activities that become available with the warm weather, is it really any surprise that they are the most favored? Summer also brings with it an abundance of flower choices. Here are our favorites:

  • Delphinium
  • Dahlias
    • Gardenia

Of course, this is a short synopsis of the vast available options in the summer season. If you’re looking to learn what else is available to you and how to design the floral look for your wedding, please do not hesitate to send us an email to discuss this at length.

  • Fall Weddings

Fall weddings compete in popularity with Summer weddings, and likewise, we see an equal abundance in floral choices for your fall wedding flowers. Fall weddings often offer more dramatic flowers, as this is when our darker and deeper toned blooms appear. For your fall wedding you might consider:

    • Lilies
    • Roses
    • Snap Dragons
    • Succulents

Many of the options previously mentioned in the summer section will also be available to you!

    Winter Weddings

The harsh climate winter can eliminate some of our beloved springtime and summertime flowers. However, these beautiful blooms are available year-round. These are our suggestions for flowers at your winter wedding:

    • Roses
    • Snap Dragons
    • Spray Roses
    • Orchids
    • Hydrangea
    • Anemone
    • Amaryllis

If we’re honest, we also adore the concept of incorporating cuts of pine branches into your winter wedding bouquets!
